Nikon has launched the WR-R11a and WR-R11b wireless remote controllers in India. The new WR-R11a and WR-R11b will be available for purchase by December 2020 from Nikon Authorized Stores. The price will be announced closer to sale start date.
The controllers enable remote shooting and radio-controlled Advanced Wireless Lighting (radio AWL) with Nikon cameras.
Radio-controlled Advanced Wireless Lighting (radio AWL) is a lighting system by which remote flash units are controlled using radio waves transmitted by a wireless remote controller attached to the camera. As per the company, Radio AWL can also be used for greater flexibility in the positioning of remote flash units. In addition, the remote controllers use radio waves, so they can be used even when there are obstacles such as trees between the transmitter and the receiver.
Nikon claims that the WR-R11a and WR-R11b are ideal for remote shooting scenes that require minimal release time lag, such as studio photography and the capture of moving subjects. For landscape photographers and still-life photographers, remote flash shooting is also available.
The primary features of the controllers, as per Nikon, are short release time lag, Radio AWL improved durability with adoption of a hinge that eliminates the need for an adapter when connecting via a ten-pin remote terminal and modification of cable clip specifications to protect the WR-R11b.
