San Jose: Authorities identify man killed in June 7 shooting

SAN JOSE – A man killed in a shooting on June 7 in San Jose has been identified as Ismael Carrillo Torres, 23, of Brentwood, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.

The shooting was reported at 3:04 a.m. near Dubert Lane and Santee Drive. San Jose police officers arrived to find Carrillo Torres suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Carrillo Torres was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His death marked the city’s 29th homicide of the year, including the nine people killed in the VTA mass shooting, which is being investigated by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

The city has recorded two additional homicides since June 7, bringing the total to 31.

Police have not announced any arrests or publicly identified any suspects in the June 7 shooting.
