After the early dismissal of David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne entered the crease accompanied by his usual bizarre antics.

English seamer Ollie Robinson was moving the pink ball and Australia were in trouble sitting 1-3 after six overs.

His first ball narrowly missed off stump, nibbling back in off a length as the Australian number three raised his arms to leave it.

Labuschagne shot back a wry smile and Adam Gilchrist said “I think Marnus just said that’s a bit quicker from you to Ollie Robinson.”

The English opener again came in and beat the bat comfortably the very next ball.

The towering quick on his follow through jogged down to the batsmen, giving the world number one a spray as Labuschagne giggled away at the crease.

“I like the follow up from Ollie Robinson too, just a bit of a stare,” Shane Warne said on Fox Sports coverage.

“It’d be pretty hard to just say, ‘mate, you just worry about your batting champ’, I mean somehow it is second ball and you start saying that’s a bit quicker from you.

“Sorry that’d make my hairs on the neck stand up and say ‘mate you just worry about your batting champ and watch yourself get out on the sightscreen on your way out’.”

On the very next ball, Labuschagne walked down the wicket, squared up and edged the ball in between first and second slip.

Zak Crawley dived to his left, in front of skipper Joe Root and dropped the crucial catch.

The mistake didn’t prove too costly, with Labuschagne being dismissed for 44.

The Aussie number three stepped across his stumps and looked to have slipped playing a cross bat shot, exposing all three stumps which were rattled by the on target ball.
