Nawazuddin Siddiqui: I have returned to Budhana to be with my mother and family – Times of India

Nawazuddin Siddiqui spent most of his lockdown in 2020 with his family in their village Budhana, but as soon as the restrictions were eased, the actor was quick to get in front of the camera for his film shoots. In an exclusive chat with ETimes, the actor shares how he managed to wrap up the shoot of his two films, ‘Sangeen’ and ‘Jogira Sara Ra Ra’, amidst the pandemic and with all the restrictions and safety protocols in place.

“I shot for ‘Sangeen’ in January. We were shooting for it in London and it was completely empty! There was a new COVID strain there and London was under a lockdown. It was a horrible situation but we continued to shoot with a lot of precautions. After that I went on to shoot for ‘Jogira Sara Ra Ra’, so it has been very hectic for me,” shares Nawaz.

After wrapping the two films, the actor decided to take a break and took off to Bangalore. “So I had shot for two films back-to-back and felt that I should take a break and go for detox. I usually prefer to keep a gap between films but the time is such that automatically we are getting a break between projects. So, in that sense, it is good,” agrees the actor who returned to his hometown in Uttar Pradesh immediately after.

Currently in Budhana, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is spending quality time with his mother. “I am in Budhana with my mother and family, nothing can be better than that. Every day, I am just praying that everything gets back to normal, things improve for the country, and that everyone starts working,” he says. Ask him about when will he be back in the City of Dreams, and he replies, “Things are very tough right now, I am not sure when I will return to Mumbai”.
