Garg’s usual frequency of tweets and Insta posts had reduced and one wondered if he was travelling, which is his second passion (after movies!) But it emerges that he was in isolation and lying low, having got infected a fortnight back.
It was just yesterday, close to midnight, that Tanuj received his report that said ‘COVID Negative‘. A source says, “Tanuj had isolated in his room at his South Mumbai residence. As a safety measure, his father has been isolating elsewhere. His mother, however, who stayed in the same apartment has continued to test negative.”
We contacted Tanuj for the story. He revealed, “It all began after a cough and mild fever, after a work meeting at a suburban restaurant. Mindful of these symptoms, I tested immediately and ensured that everyone at work was tested as well. Thankfully, they all tested negative, while I became the virus’s chosen one!”
So how did the workaholic and socially active producer manage to stay aloof for a fortnight? “It was akin to imprisonment. I felt like a pariah. The food would be kept outside my room. The laundry and utensils were separate. But these measures were important for mom’s safety. Thankfully, work calls and e-mails kept me busy right through the day. The evenings were about Internet surfing, playing scrabble online, and watching a few shows. My symptoms were fairly mild so the quarantine wasn’t rough, but it was very draining psychologically! Getting my result as negative after a 14-day quarantine felt like clearing my Board exams with a Distinction! I’m glad it’s all behind me now!”
Following ‘Neerja’, ”Tumhari Sulu’ and ‘Why Cheat India’, Tanuj-Atul’s Ellipsis’s next is ‘Looop Lapeta’, in partnership with Sony Pictures Films India and Aayush Maheshwari. It is the official Hindi adaptation of the iconic international film ‘Run Lola Run’ and expected to release on October 22, 2021.
