Melbourne captain Daisy Pearce has failed to recover in time for her side’s AFLW preliminary final against Adelaide.
Pearce made a desperate bid to be ready for the Demons’ game against the Crows on Saturday, having missed the qualifying final win over Fremantle with a medial collateral ligament injury suffered in Round 9’s win over Brisbane.

The 32-year-old will now hope her teammates can win through to their first Grand Final, and that she can recover in time for it if they do.
Both the Demons and Crows have named unchanged sides, while Collingwood and Brisbane have made one change each for their preliminary final.

If Adelaide wins, it will host next week’s Grand Final at Adelaide Oval. If Melbourne wins, then the winner of Brisbane vs Collingwood will host the game at either the Gabba or the MCG, respectively.
