Angelina Jolie calls India’s COVID-19 pandemic situation beyond heartbreaking, says she is standing in grief and solidarity – Times of India


Angelina Jolie recently shared a few words for the frontline workers in India amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Calling the current situation “beyond heartbreaking”, the Hollywood star added that she is standing with the country in grief and solidarity.

While promoting her upcoming film ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’ where she is essaying the role of a firefighter, she was asked to share a message for India. A news portal quoted her saying they are all with a very heavy heart, and have no words to express the grief, solidarity for all that the people of India are suffering. The actress also added that she feels the situation is beyond heartbreaking and they are all praying that it improves. She added that her heart goes out to all the families who have lost so many family members and are suffering at this moment.

Further talking about her character in the film, Angelina added she admires all the frontline workers who decided to take jobs of service and dedicate their lives and risk their lives for others. According to her, there is no noble profession other than this. It is a beautiful thing to be.

Meanwhile, on the work front, apart from this, Angelina will be seen making her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as the immortal Thena in ‘Eternals’. The movie also stars Richard Madden, Salma Hayek, Kit Harington, Gemma Chan and Kumail Nanjiani amongst many others.

Directed by Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao, the movie is slated to release in the US on November 4, 2021.
